International Finance
Cooperation with international partner universities
The bachelor's degree program "International Finance" is a key component of the University's internationalization strategy and is offered in cooperation with international partner universities. Part of the course is taught at an international partner university with lecturers from the HFM University of Applied Sciences for Finance & Management and lecturers from the partner university. Another part of the course takes place at our HFM, where the coursework completed at the partner university is recognized and further course content is taught.

"International Finance" is a bachelor's degree program designed for international students who wish to pursue a career in the financial industry, e.g. in financial institutions, financial service providers or in the finance departments of large global companies with an international focus. This program offers students the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of various business topics with a special focus on finance, while also improving their language, presentation and intercultural communication skills.
The curriculum of the program provides students with a thorough grounding in business administration, as well as specialized knowledge of finance in an international context and the development of intercultural skills. The curriculum covers the following major topics:
- Basics: Business Administration, Economics, Law, Quantitative Methods
- Special Focus Area: Financial Institutions, Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Financial Markets
- Key Qualifications: Languages, Communication and Cooperation
- Transfer: Bachelor thesis, colloquium
Curriculum International Finance
First international Partnership: XUFE
The Bachelor of Science in International Finance is organized as a study program in cooperation with foreign universities. Our first partnership is with Xi'an University of Finance and Economics (XUFE) in Xi'an, China. In this arrangement, the program is structured as a part-time program with a standard duration of eight semesters. During the first six semesters, students complete a total of 27 study modules at XUFE. They can then choose to spend the remaining two semesters - which include six additional modules as well as their bachelor thesis and colloquium - at our HFM University of Applied Sciences for Finance & Management in Bonn, Germany. Upon successful completion of their studies in both Xi'an and Bonn, students will receive a dual bachelor's degree certificate from both universities: XUFE and HFM.
